Why Work With Us?

MPI has teamed up with Brownstone Recovery to help merchants understand and participate in Payment Card Interchange Fee Settlement. If you want to know more, you’re in the right place.

We’re Here To Help You Understand Your Options.

If you accepted Visa or MasterCard at any point between January 1, 2004, and January 25, 2019, you are part of a class action lawsuit that resulted in a settlement of more than $5 billion. The official name of the class action lawsuit is Payment Card Interchange Fee and Merchant Discount Antitrust Litigation (MDL No. 1720).

CURRENT STATUS: We are pleased to inform you that, as of December 1, 2023, the official claim form for the VISA/MasterCard Class Action Settlement is now available. With the formal approval of the VISA/MasterCard Class Action Settlement in September 2023, the process of claiming your share of the settlement is materially progressing. The current enrollment period is from December 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024.

What Are Your Options?

Option 1: Do nothing and do not receive your share of the settlement. Note: If you want to participate, you must take action in this class action to receive compensation.

Option 2: File your own claim by working with the official settlement administrator. For more information, and contact details for no-cost assistance, you can visit www.paymentcardsettlement.com. Claim forms started mailing on December 1, 2023, and are also available online. The claim filing deadline is May 31, 2024.

Option 3: Retain Brownstone Recovery to work on your behalf and help you recover your share of the settlement. Their areas of expertise are interchange fees and class action settlements. They will focus on your claim while you focus on your business. Simply click the “Sign Up for Settlement” button below or at the top of this page to get started.

What To Expect If You Choose Option 3

Once you fill out their simple registration form, you will receive a Welcome Kit via email that includes a contract from Brownstone stating that you agree to have Brownstone represent you. As part of retaining Brownstone, they will:

  • Register merchants with the Claims Administrator and file a claim on their behalf
  • Follow up with merchants if additional information is needed
  • Track the settlement process and keep everyone informed
  • Notify merchants of the status of their claims
  • Safely and securely handle all business information
  • There is no risk when merchants register with Brownstone because Brownstone does not charge up-front fees for their services.

Disclaimer: Claim forms are being delivered and are available online beginning December 1, 2023. Class members need not sign up for a third-party service in order to participate in any monetary relief. No-cost assistance is available from the Class Administrator and Class Counsel during the claims-filing period. Additional information regarding the litigation is available at http://www.paymentcardsettlement.com.
